Suspect Charged in Wal-Mart Burglary

The suspect in a burglary at Bonita Wal-Mart, captured by a surveillance camera, turned himself in to authorities.

Detectives say 19-year-old Rodney Warren McDonald of 3125 36th Street, has been charged with commercial burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Surveillance images were shown Tuesday on WTOK-TV. Police say those broadcasts led to McDonald surrendering.

The surveillance camera showed a white male using bolt cutters from the store to break open a locked storage cabinet, taking a laptop computer and running from the store June 28.

Officials say McDonald is being held on a no-bond status at this time.

Anonymous at 7:26 i pitty you for being so naive. 1. His life is what he has made it. 2. He is a terrible person. 3. Rehab will not help him. Juvenile, training school nor jail have had any impact on his life. He will continue his ways as soon as he is released. He has been and always will be a threat to this community and a drain on society. Freddie has the right idea.

A three time loser is not a bad person? Spend a day in his shoes? Apparently he is not smart enough to not break the law. He deserves a nice new pair of wrist bracelets and a long vacation in Parchman. That would be the right rehab for this convict!

I am just wondering WHAT he was actually thinking?? I know I am NOT the only shopper at WalMart that notices the HUGE black balls hanging from the ceiling... Hello... those ARE video cameras!! I think he should serve whatever punishment the justice system deems fit.... God will have the ultimate say-so in the END!

hes really not a bad person.. he deserves his punishment, but if you were to spend a day in his shoes and delt with what he deals with you would understand. I would like to think rehab would serve him better than jail!

Previous Motor vehicle theft, DUI. Leave him in jail.

If this person was on probation or out on bond for a separate crime when this arrest came about, bond could be denied as a result.

Holding him without bond??? Murderers get bonded sometimes... Didn't we have a murderer go free after two years in jail? I agree he should serve the full term of whatever covers the crime but come on?

Should have put the video out sooner. The public can be trusted with information, believe it or not.
