Authorities say an inmate who had less than a year left of his sentence now faces five more years for escape after he failed to return on time from a weekend pass.
Mississippi Department of Corrections spokeswoman Tara Booth said Randy N. Blansett turned himself in Monday night.
The 29-year-old Blansett is serving a three-year sentence for two felony DUI convictions, one each in Monroe and Chickasaw counties.
His tentative release date was in May 2010 but now he faces five years for escape, if convicted.
