Allstate Insurance will close its Mississippi phone-claims center by Oct. 30, eliminating 63 local jobs. It has been in operation for about 30 years.
Allstate spokesman Mike Siemienas said 33 positions will be moved to centers in Kentucky and Tennessee. He said employees will be offered the chance to transfer or apply for other company positions.
After it closes, some sales personnel will be based at the building, but Siemienas couldn't say what number.
He says the closing does not affect field agents who assist customers seeking insurance policies and other service.
