MSU Riley Center Opens Individual Ticket Sales

Season tickets have been on sale for weeks for the 2009-2010 season at the MSU Riley Center. Last week, buyers were able to buy tickets to a package of any five shows.

Monday, tickets for individual shows went on sale. Riley Center officials say they're pleased with how sales are going.

"We already have a couple of shows that are almost sellouts, and it's just the first day of ticket sales," said box office manager Derron Radcliffe.

The Riley Center says it had about 200 tickets left late Monday afternoon for the season kick-off show with B.B. King. After that, Nancy Griffith, Lyle Lovette, Keb' Mo', and the Oak Ridge Boys are the hottest sellers.

If you want to buy tickets, you may do so by calling 601-696-2200, going to the box office Monday through Friday during regular business hours or visiting the at MSU Riley Center's Web site. A link is provided below.

I think this is Proof Positive that Meridian needs a bigger facility. As easy as it is to get to Meridian from Hattiesburg, Jackson, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, etc. by interstate highways there's no way we couldn't have something like Tupelo that holds a few more thousand people. Many of these people purchasing tickets are from areas other than Meridian.
