Juanice Evans has spent more than two decades promoting Kemper County.
Thursday, her community said thanks. A retirement reception was Thursday afternoon.
Evans has been executive director of the Kemper County Chamber of Commerce since 1986. There was an impressive turnout.
"As long as my husband stays well enough, I will come back often and visit and enjoy," said Evans. "I've always been running so hard that I've missed a lot by doing that. But I also gained a lot, too."
Evans says she will remain active in the community, and will continue to serve on the board of directors for the Key Chapter of the American Red Cross.
