State and local fire officials are investigating a blaze that destroyed the sanctuary of a Terry church.
About 3 a.m. Monday, pastor Frank Williams said he received a call letting him know that Salem Missionary Baptist had caught fire. Williams said the church, which has about 250 members, was in the midst of remodeling.
Williams said church members have not decided when or where to rebuild and they don't know the cost of the fire damage.
State fire marshal spokeswoman Donna Cromeans says the agency has been asked to assist in the fire investigation.
