Stringer: "I feel like things will pick up"

There could be some good news ahead for Mississippi in terms of the economic outlook.

House Appropriations Committee chairman, Johnny Stringer, said Mississippi is now poised for a turnaround.

"Well, we we're down $26 million for the month of July, but I feel like things will pick up," said Stringer. "The stimulus package is starting to kick in and I think we'll level out before the end of the year."

So far, Stringer says almost a half billion dollars in federal stimulus funds have come to Mississippi for various projects.
