About two hundred bicyclists will be in downtown Meridian this weekend for a road race.
The Magnolia Cyclist Bike Races will start at 12 noon Saturday and continue till 8 p.m.
It means that several streets will not be open to traffic. Those streets include Fourth Street, Constitution Avenue, and 18th Avenue.
Motorists will need to take alternate routes during those hours. The suggested detours are using either 29th Avenue or the 26th Avenue subway area to travel north and south during the afternoon and evening and to use 14th Street for east-west travel.
The city says detours will be marked and police officers and race officials will be on hand to control traffic and ensure safety.
