Barry Names New Homeland Security Director

The city of Meridian has a new director of Homeland Security.

Mayor Cheri Barry Tuesday night appointed, and the city council confirmed, former Meridian fire chief Tim Miller to be the new director. He replaces, Bunky Partridge, who is also a former Meridian fire chief. Partridge will continue to work for the city through this transition period until the end of September.

Department heads serve at the pleasure of the mayor. It's the first departmental change Barry has made.

Barry has said that she is reviewing all department heads, and might make more changes.

Political Patronage: rewarding individuals for their political support. Tim decided not to run for mayor and promised Cheri his support in order to receive a city job. It fits.

My name is Kerry Myers; I would like to apologize to anyone that assumed my statement was on behalf of NAS MERIDIAN. The opinions stated were in no way affiliated with the Naval Air Station. These were my personal opinions.

As a former city of meridian fire fighter I would like to say I truly feel sorry for Angelia. She is caught up in this and she is still a child that loves her father. I have been mistreated by both men that heve taken over the homeland security but I can only be responsible for how I conduct myself in the eyes of GOD.I can't control what other people do or how they conduct themselves. I will be judged by my actions not theirs. I have forgiven both men for how I was done because I can't be forgiven unless I forgive. Politics will always be politics. The problem with the whole political world is they have gotten away from what the USA was founded on. GOD. I will pray for you Angelia and GOD Bless You and your family.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That is what makes America the greatest. But to stoop to nastiness when someone is hurting is just cruel. Cold and cruel. Did anybody bother to find out the stats on how much money Bunky has brought into this city/county and to the training center itself? Like him or not does not (and should not) EVER have anything to do with whether or not he did a good job. So what if he was loyal to JRS? Shouldn't he have been? As a "victim" of a past lay off, I KNOW I can say that I was loyal to my employer only to get screwed over just like Bunky has been. His wife was screwed over too. I don't say these things just because I am friends with them. I wouldn't BE friends with them if they weren't good people. Period. Angelia: You hold your head up, babe. The store on 45 has nothing to do with anything that is going on. I guess haters will always be haters. Doesn't matter how hard you work.. WTG "MS STRIKE A POSE VOGUE BARRY"

Angelia, You do not owe any explanation to these people that are for your Dad or against him. Every single one of us have things in our lives that we are not proud of. That is why we need the grace that God gives us. Do not argue the points with these people. I know that it hurts you, but what anyone else thinks or says about your daddy , does not matter. What matters is, what you think of your daddy. And if he knows that well then... Focus your attention to your family and not this blog.

Bunky is good person, he has never done me wrong. The best chief i worked for by far. Everybody get ready to watch tim miller run what soon will be just a metal building out there. Bunky will come out ahead in all of this, and I will be laughing when tim falls flat on his face.
