The city of Meridian has a new director of Homeland Security.
Mayor Cheri Barry Tuesday night appointed, and the city council confirmed, former Meridian fire chief Tim Miller to be the new director. He replaces, Bunky Partridge, who is also a former Meridian fire chief. Partridge will continue to work for the city through this transition period until the end of September.
Department heads serve at the pleasure of the mayor. It's the first departmental change Barry has made.
Barry has said that she is reviewing all department heads, and might make more changes.
