Maj. Stanley Sisk of the Highway Patrol has been named the new director of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
With the promotion comes an elevation of rank to lieutenant colonel for Sisk, a 28-year veteran of the patrol.
According to a release from the Department of Public Safety, which oversees the patrol and MBI, Sisk has specialized training in crime scene investigations and is a certified crime scene re-constructionist.
MBI's mission is to investigate, report and prevent criminal activities; to coordinate activities between federal, state and local authorities conducting criminal probes.
Sisk succeeds Lt. Col. David Shaw, who has retired.
