Dam Project to Start Soon

Meridian officials say work will begin next month to restore the structural integrity of the dam at Bonita Lakes Park.

Officials say the project will take about six months, and during the construction, portions of the walking track around the lower lake will be closed.

The water will also be lowered to allow for work in the lake and along the dam.

Public Works Director Monty Jackson said the work is being done with federal grant money.
