Former Choctaw Indian chief, Phillip Martin, is in the hospital, but he says he will be getting out soon.
Martin was admitted to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson Wednesday.
Newscenter 11 spoke to Martin Thursday by phone. He wouldn't say why he was admitted.
But the 83-year-old said he expects to get out of the hospital Friday.
Martin has recently been touring the state, promoting his autobiography, "Chief."
