It's not often that someone reaches 100 years old. But a Meridian lady has gone past even that.
Mary Smith celebrated her 104th birthday Friday. A party was held for her at Queen City Nursing Center. She was joined by friends and family.
"We trust the Lord to keep me on further, or maybe this is it," Smith said, laughing. "I have nothing new to talk about!"
Smith has six children, eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and two more great-great-great-grandchildren.
She says she doesn't have any real secrets to a long life, but she has tried to take care of herself.
