MPD Reports Missing Teen

The Meridian Police Department Juvenile Division is asking for help from the public in locating a missing teenager, Danika Miller, 16. It's possible she ran away.

Miller was last seen Aug. 11 in the area of 18th Street and Martin Luther King Drive.

Miller is described as African-American, 5'5", about 150 pounds, with a dark complexion, short black hair and brown eyes.

Miller was last seen wearing blue jeans, a brown and white shirt, and sandals. Police say it's possible she hitched a ride to the Canton, Miss., area.

Miller was also reported missing by her family in February 2009.

The MPD asks that anyone who has had contact with Miller or knows where she is to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860 or 601-484-6846.

I agree, this is becoming known to us(community)as an ordinary situation. Parents and the community need to come together to keep this children in tact. My heart goes out to the parents who experience these situations.

It seems this child is asking for help, why was she returned home in February without counseling. People stop believing the little boy that kept crying "wolf". I hope she is found safe and soon so that she can get the help she needs.
