Lauderdale County E-911 has a new director and some new technology to help them when they help you.
Jared Stanley joined Lauderdale County after working in emergency management at Naval Air Station Meridian.
Just before he jumped on board with Lauderdale County, a new computer system was brought in to make 911 service faster and more reliable, especially when seconds count.
"It's a lot more up-to-date, technology-wise, than what we used to have," said Stanley. "Because of that, it's also a lot more reliable, which is important obviously because of the type of work that gets done here."
911 dispatchers sit in front of a panel of six computer monitors that can show information like the name, phone number, and address of a caller. They also have quick communication access to various emergency services.
