Blues legend BB King opened the season at the MSU Riley Center. Many people in the audience couldn't contain themselves as B.B. King turned out some of the best blues ever heard.

As soon as the season was announced, King's concert immediately became one of the most sought after nights of entertainment, and sold out quickly.

"He's the master. Yeah, he's number one in my book," said Lomax Rosamond.

"He told me to go buy the tickets as soon as they went on sale," said Ruth Ann Rosamond.

"I want to see a legend, anyone who is the greatest, 83 years old and still loves what he does," said Tom Sikes.

And a walk through the pre-show social produced story after story of how these fans came to know BB King's greatness.

"When I was in high school, one of his records was "I'm In Love With You". I had to come and see this man tonight," said Herbert Robinson.

And for Riley Center officials, King's performance is an honor, one of Mississippi's most respected musicians playing in what many consider the gem of the state's theaters.

"I think having BB King at the Riley Center, we have our home legendary Mississippi museum at Mississippi's best performance facility," said Dennis Sankovich.
