Meridian emergency responders were called to Key Field Wednesday evening because of an in-flight emergency involving a KC-135 tanker.
There was apparently a problem with the plane's hydraulic system. There was concern that the landing gear would not perform properly because of the problem.
The aircraft circled the area to reduce its fuel load before making an emergency landing around 5:50 p.m. However, the plane did land safely.
