Law enforcement officials arrested a suspect in an attempted break-in at an ATM in Meridian. The incident happened Aug. 24 at Meridian Mutual Federal Credit Union.
Officials with the Meridian Police Department announced Monday that Dustin R. Forrester was taken into custody Sept. 11 by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department after it received a Crimestoppers tip.
Officials say the caller identified Forrester by his distinctive "DR" tattoo on his arm, as well as his facial features. Both the tattoo and surveillance images from the crime scene were aired on Newscenter 11.
The MPD said Forrester was located and arrested without incident at a residence in the Meehan community. he has been charged with commercial burglary. His bond was set at $20,000 and later reduced to $5,000 after a court hearing.
The case will be presented to the November grand jury.
