Local volunteers who go all out to raise money to help cancer patients made a presentation Tuesday at the Anderson Cancer Center in Meridian.
Diane Burnham of Citizens National Bank delivered a check for $600, collected through the bank's "Puttin' on the Pink" fundraiser. It will go to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.
"We have a lot of breast cancer patients at our bank," said Burnham. "And over the last year, we have had two employees to be newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. And we that there's such a need for this money."
The fund helps cancer patients with expenses like travel that are not covered by health insurance.
Citizens National Bank is challenging all other banks to 'put on the pink'
Oct. 16. People pay $5 to wear pink to increase breast cancer awareness.
