The state College Board this week approved limited scope study centers at two Mississippi universities.
The University of Southern Mississippi will create the Center for American Indian Research and Studies and the Center on Aging. The University of Mississippi will have the Magazine Innovation Center. The centers will be paid for through external grant funds and existing budgets.
The American Indian research center was created to forge partnerships between USM faculty and regional tribal governments. USM's aging center will facilitate research and service activities.
The Magazine Innovation Center, a part of Ole Miss' School of Journalism, will encourage collaboration among experts in publishing, printing, advertising and distribution.
