After 40 years in business, Bill Ethridge Lincoln-Mercury will be shutting its doors in coming weeks.

According to Billy Jack Ethridge, Ford Motor Company has decided not to have a Lincoln-Mercury dealer in the Meridian area.

This comes as Ford continues down-sizing its dealerships across the country.

The service department closed Friday. The dealership will be liquidating all automobile inventory over the next several weeks.

Ethridge said his family is proud to have served the community for four decades.

"I would like to say thank you to all the people who have allowed us to be a part of their families over the years," Ethridge said. "And we will miss it. We will miss it."

Vehicle owners who want to exercise warranties may visit any authorized Ford dealer.

I believe there is more to the story than Ford no longer wanted a Lincoln/Mercury dealership in Meridian. They told their employees Thursday afternoon, and many worked their last day on Friday. I don't know what it is, but this is not the WHOLE truth IMO.

DannyBoy agrees if it was your job you would be screaming bloody murder.... but then you might be one of those guys see over by wall mart with a sign held up... or one of those that run with the mob because it sounds good to get your 5 min of fame.. either way.. the fact is a good family company no matter what or who it is is hard to fine.. one thing about franchises I hate they still control you ..

Chris! If you think the salesmen lie. you should sit on the other side of the desk and hear the customer lies. Ever told a salesman you would be back? How about they got one just like it for 1000's less at another dealer? I wish the Ethridges the best. They are good honest people, just as most in the buisness.

Bill Ethridge Lincoln-Mercury has always been a dealership that others should be modeled after and you know its there wonderful people that are so endearing to us. Honesty integrity and family atmosphere have been there trademarks. It’s a shame that folk’s that have always done it right are being told to shutter there door.

This is truely a sad day for Meridian and the surrounding area. The Ethridge family, including the employes, have been a great asset to our area over the past 40 years, and they will be missed in the industry. Thank you

Sorry to hear that this family business will no longer be in operation. They have served my family well. I worked there for over 10 years and will sincerely miss the family like atmosphere and hospitality. I've truly enjoyed the friendships that I've developed over the years.

One of the only honest dealerships that was left, such a shame.
