The city of Meridian and its neighboring town of Marion have decided to end their feud over $35,806 in payments for sewage treatment.
Meridian had been pushing the smaller town to pay the money for the services, but The Meridian Star reports that the dispute was getting expensive.
Meridian city attorney Bill Ready says issue "had taken on a life of its own," and the two municipalities had already spent $50,000 in their fight over the disputed bill.
Ready says he got permission from Meridian Mayor Cheri Barry and Marion Mayor Elvis Hudson to finally end to the argument.
After speaking with attorneys for both sides, Ready asked a judge to let Meridian drop its demand for payment.
