The Central Mississippi Residential Center in Newton celebrated its annual Day of Diversity Tuesday.

The day was filled with presentations on various countries around the world, from people who are from those countries.

The countries represented were Cameroon, Tanzania, China, Russia, and Turkey.

"We live in a big world, and the world, right now, is without any walls, so without nay limits and boundaries," said Oksana Mahecha of JSU International Studies. "And it's important in order for us to understand each other better and definitely to have a dialogue to have a conversation."

Following the presentations that described the countries and their cultures was a fashion show demonstrating the clothing worn in the countries.
