Peavey Electronics has created a one-of-a-kind guitar that will be auctioned to benefit breast cancer awareness.
Mary Peavey Tuesday presented the guitar to the CAREousel Breast Cancer Support Group.
The money raised through the auction will help breast cancer patients pay for mammograms and special needs after surgery.
"There's not a woman alive who doesn't fear breast cancer," said Mary Peavey. "And hopefully with the work of this, these women and women all over the world, we'll beat it and we'll find us a cure."
"The many women in our community have come together. We have actually done so many amazing things this month," said Sylvia Mercado, a 22-year breast cancer survivor. "And again, it's just for all the people out there that we're fighting for, To make it a better day for them through the journey of cancer."
CAREousel Breast Cancer Support Group meets every third Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the classroom at Anderson Cancer Center in Meridian.
