Red Cross Prepares for Next 'Katrina'

Officials with the American Red Cross Key Chapter say they're working to get more financially prepared for the next big disaster.

Officials say when Hurricane Katrina hit, it also hit their finances hard. That's why they say they're taking part in a national effort right now to try to be ready locally and nationally for whatever the next disaster is.

"We just don't want to see another situation like was seen here with Katrina. We want to be prepared," said director Susan Wehr.

You may donate online. Those who donate from the seven counties the Key Chapter serves will have their donations go to the local fund raising goal.
