Yazoo County Student Not Charged as Adult

A 15-year-old female student who displayed a loaded .380 semiautomatic handgun on a Yazoo County school bus last month won't be charged as an adult.

The girl's parents and her attorney, John Reeves, were relieved as they emerged from a Yazoo County Youth Court hearing Monday in Yazoo City.

The Sept. 1 incident made national headlines after the girl was tackled by high school football star Kaleb Eulls, who wrestled the gun from her.

Shortly after the incident, the girl's mother said her daughter had been bullied, leading her to bring the gun on the bus.

The girl was expelled from school and has been in the youth detention center.

All it takes is for somebody to claim that have been bullied and the rest will follow. Everyone makes a mistake as a child, but a slap on the rest doesn't make it okay when a child carries a gun to school. If she was mentally challenge then she shouldn't had been on the bus. I hope that young man recieves a free scholorship somewhere for his courage. Parents spend time with your kids and find out what is troubling them. The bully is worst in prison.

parents, please talk to your childern about picking on childerns that are different please make your childern understand that people did'nt make themselves they don't like to be picked on. If you'll notice on the reports on childern shooting up the schools they were childern that were unexcepted if the childern would spend time trying to make friends with those childern at least they would have someone trying to talk to them into makeing wise decisions instead of killing everybody so please parents talk to your childerns wheather you think they are picking or not they may just laugh at the evil kids that do the harm. remember parents the shooters were always decirb as someone that was always alone and not excepted.

My understanding is this young lady is mentally challenged. I believe that would be why the cases are treated differently.

There was a kid arrested in Meridian the other day for having a gun in his car. If not mistaken, he was charged as an adult. Why was not this child charged as an adult and she was "actually" threatening children with a loaded gun.... I'm somewhat confused on his justice works here.
