Meridian Community College recognized some of its brightest students Tuesday.
It was the fall induction ceremony for Phi Theta Kappa.
Thirty-four people became members of the 2-year honors program. Inductees have at least a 3.5 grade point average.
"So it definitely is an honor. And also if you are a member of this, it opens the doors for scholarships when you transfer to university level," said Phyllis Holladay, Phi Theta Kappa adviser.
Phi Theta Kappa members not only maintain high academics, they are also involved in serving their communities.
