Detectives with the Meridian Police Department say they are continuing to interview witnesses and "people of interest" in the killings of Jerome Hearn and Stanley Mason.
Hearn's death Friday morning and Mason's death early Saturday morning marked the third and fourth homicide cases of the year in Meridian.
Officials said Monday afternoon that no charges had been filed against anyone questioned or detained in the cases.
The MPD said anyone considered "of interest" in the cases are still on a 72-hour investigative hold while the probe continues.
At this point, police say investigators have not found any hard evidence that the two killings are connected. But they also say they haven't ruled out the possibility.
Investigators Monday still asked that anyone with information involving the shooting deaths of Mason and Hearn to contact the Meridian Police Department at 601-485-1893, the Criminal Investigation Division at 601-485-1859, or Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.
