HRI Officials Says Threefoot Update Coming

Officials with the company contracted to renovate Meridian's Threefoot Building say they're planning an announcement on the project's status in the near future.

They say that announcement will be a joint one with the city, but aren't ready to release any details, because they're being finalized.

Josh Collen of Historic Restorations, Inc., said the company is not and will not be asking for more money to develop the building, which is scheduled to be turned into a hotel.

The old Threefoot building is a viable landmark in east central Mississippi...my grandfather actually dug the foundation to the building with mule teams & slips (not many people know what a slip is)...lots of history to rally the downtown around. I would certainly hope that the folks in the "loop" who are facilitating this project will make sure that there are limits to financial latitude when repairs of this nature take place.....hidden structural damage and deficiencies that have developed can really put a new dimension on cost projection of this magnitude when the tear out is actually complete and repairs are ready to be affected. Good luck with the project Meridian !!

just hope no more surprises on this and all have been shown .. but either way what the old mayor did is in stone and if it goes south is because of his actions..

I hope this turns out like the King Edward in Jackson, but I have a bad feeling about it.
