An explosion killed two workers in Mississippi near Mobile, Alabama. The explosion happened at the VT Halter Ship Terminal on Friday. According to Jackson County Coroner, the two men died of injuries sustained in the blast.
Company officials said the explosion happened aboard a tugboat that was under construction. The crew was cleaning a tank and preparing it to be painted.
"We had a crew of our employees working in one of the machinery spaces, preparing one of the tanks for paint, and we're not really sure what happened, but we do know that there was some type of flash explosion, and that's all under investigation, we don't know what cause.. " explained William Skinner, the CEO of VT Halter.
Four other workers were hurt. Two were taken to Singing River Hospital and later released. The other two victims were taken to USA Medical Center.
