Movies Return to Temple

Movies are returning to the Temple Theatre, starting this weekend. Owner Roger Smith says he's trying to bring new life to the downtown area.

The Sound of Music, and an animated Christmas movie, The Polar Express, will play Saturday and Sunday.

The first showing of The Sound of Music is 1 p.m. The Polar Express will be shown at 4 p.m.

"We encourage the kids to come with their parents in their pajamas for The Polar Express experience," said Smith. "We're going to have singalongs on the pipe organ prior to the show. And then we're going to have a repeat of The Sound of Music in the evening Saturday."

Smith says Santa will also appear at the Temple ballroom Saturday afternoon.

The late show Saturday, starting at 11 p.m., is the cult classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show.

People are encouraged to come dressed in costume for the interactive movie.

Tickets are $5.00 each.

Sadly, most of the younger generation (under 40) won't even understand the "interactive" part, or know what to do.
