A 21-year-old man was shot in the neck with a small caliber handgun Tuesday around 9 p.m. on County Road 140 in Clarke County.

Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp says, so far, the investigation points to the incident being a drug deal gone bad.

The victim, Brandon Reynolds, was hospitalized.

"He was transported from H.C. Watkins (Hospital) to Rush and kept overnight," said Kemp. "We do not believe it was life threatening."

Kemp said two men, Kalandrus Davis and Willie Davis, who are cousins, were taken into custody and were expected to be charged with the crime. According to the sheriff, they confessed.

A third suspect is also wanted, Alton Vale. Anyone with information is asked to call the Clarke County Sheriff's Department at 601-776-5252.

They confessed to doing the shooting. Not that is was "a drug deal gone bad." Just because someone has had a bad past doesn't mean that they are still that way. People judge too much these days and need to keep their mouth close. You was not there so you have no clue what actually happen and why.

They are not "assuming" it was a drug deal gone bad, if you read the article again, they confessed that is what happened. They were charged with aggravated assult because that charge has a more harsh punishment than attempted murder in Mississippi.

It's amazing how people are assuming this had to do with a drug deal. Honestly, will anything actually happen to the ones who did the shooting. There is so much stuff that goes on in Clarke County that goes unsaid and not to mention the stuff that happens and nothing is done about it. When will this end? When will criminals be put where they need to be????
