A nationwide safety patrol group came to Meridian. Members of Jackson's Guardian Angels say they came to Meridian because they have received numerous phone calls with complaints about crime in Meridian. The group says they hope to bring safety and crime prevention to Meridian.

"We patrol neighborhoods, we watch out for any type of crime that's going on, you know drug dealers, we don't tolerate that, gangs and stuff we don't tolerate that. If a neighborhoods got a problem we get in that neighborhood and stop all of the crime," says Bennie Jones, a member of Jackson's Guardian Angels.

Members of Jackson's Guardian Angels are asking the community of Meridian to step up to the plate. They say they hope Meridian will join them in providing safety for neighborhoods. They are hoping to start a Meridian chapter of Guardian Angels.
