A Meridian company presented a gift to the Boys and Girls Club that will benefit children's health by building strong bones.
Mitchell Distributing has been supporting the Boys and Girls Club of East Mississippi for decades.
"We've always had close ties with the Boys and Girls Club," said vice-president Joel Payne. "And now that we're selling and distributing Nestle Nesquik milk in this area so that we can help."
"The Mitchell companies have been with Boys and Girls Club since the beginning of Boys and Girls Club, so over 20 years," said club executive director Ricky Hood. "So they were always thinking about us, not just during this time but throughout the year."
Mitchell Distributing has made a donation of 331 cases of Nestle Nesquik to the Boys and Girls Club of East Mississippi.
Even the Nesquik Bunny was on hand to visit with the youngsters at the Boys and Girls Club and help pass out a variety of Nesquik flavors.
"Every day we have about five hundred children that we see in two different clubs right now, and a donation of snacks and things of this nature goes a long way," Hood said.
"We support a lot of charities in the area," Payne said. "One of the areas we can do that is financially, which we've done in the past. But we have some products that will work with these charities also like the Nestle Milk. Nestle and Nesquik have been nice enough to donate the product to Mitchell Distributing, and we in turn just turn around and give it to charities in the community."
Mitchell Distributing is donating to four other local organizations including 100 cases to the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia, 279 cases to LOVE's Kitchen, 416 cases to Wesley House, and 121 cases to Hope Village for Children. In all, they will donate more than 1200 cases of Nestle Nesquik.
