The Hallmark Store in Meridian's Bonita Lakes Mall is set to close.

The store will close Wednesday, January 27, 2010. The store employs twelve people.

The Kansas City-based company that owns the store is cutting back financially. There are other Hallmark stores closing throughout the country.

I was shopping in Bonita Lakes today and I was the only customer in every store I went into! Hallmark was the only reason why I usually made a pit stop in Meridian, but now there's no use.

A movie theatre downtown with stadium seating and an Imax theatre would definitely provide the traffic to justify further investment in our city. Great Idea!

The best part of the mall are the vortex things that make coins go in a downward spiral. (take that jeff) And as soon as someone thinks to build a decent movie theatre in like...noth hills or down town the mall would be completly shut down in a year or so.

This mall is managed by people from outside the area who have no clue what the people of Meridian want to see in their stores. A friend of mine had a kiosk in the mall, and rent for a month was over $3000. That's why no businesses stay there! Unless you are looking for crack pipes, FUBU, or ganskta clothes, the mall has nothing for you!

Meridian will soon be a dead backward town again with all the closings. We can blame most of this on the CITY COUNCIL. They just do not understand.

How many more people can come up with a way to put "downward spiral" in a post? LOL Times are tough all over. Greeting card stores are 20th century relics-- buy a card online or at the grocery.

Should have named it Village Fair Mall 2. Such as the economic life in Meridian.

It seems like they have brought people in to manage the mall that really does not understand Meridian at all -- not sure they even want to.

This so called mall is a JOKE. Its no surprise that another store is closing. I assume theres more to come in the future.
