Three local sisters celebrated some major birthdays tonight in Meridian.
One of the sisters is turning 85, another one is turning 89, and the oldest is turning 91. Mary Speight is the daughter of Lucille Payne who is turning 85. She helped organize the birthday party at Meridian's Frank Cochran Center.
"Well what's going on tonight, we are trying to celebrate my mom's and her two sister's birthdays. It's been a rough time but I seem to get everybody together pretty good. I had a lot of help and we've got a lot of food, fun, going to have music, gospel and we're going to have a little something else about eight tonight," says Mary Speight.
Speight says she spent all day getting the party together. Although it took her a lot of time, she says it was worth it for her mother and aunts.
