The Covington County coroner says a 3-year-old girl was shot to death, allegedly by her 4-year-old brother.
Coroner Chris DaQuila tells the Hattiesburg American that the children were playing in a back bedroom and the grandparents were in another part of the house Sunday evening when they heard a gun go off.
When the adults reached the room, DaQuila said they found Cameron Sellers laying on the floor with a 12-gauge shotgun beside her. Her brother was standing off to the side of the girl. DaQuila said Sellers died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Authorities are still investigating the shooting.
