Two Mississippi Department of Transportation were killed in an accident near Lumberton Monday.

MDOT spokeswoman Carrie Adams didn't release the names of the victims pending notification of relatives. She had no immediate details about the incident.

Capt. Richard Cox of the Lamar County Sheriff's Office told the Associated Press that a dispatcher received a call about the accident on U.S. Highway 11.

Cox says it appeared the MDOT workers were spreading sand because ice was caked on a railroad trestle near Lumberton.

Cox said the Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Please know that I am praying for your great grandmother. It was an accident, an unmalicious action, an accident. I will pray for her to heal and also for the friends and families of those killed to be able to forgive her...and for her to forgive herself. God is great.
