Lauderdale County authorities say two men have been charged in a drug sting that took place late last week.
Jerrel Hancock, 75, of Meridian and David Thompson, Jr., 47, of Toxey, Ala., have both been charged with multiple drug possession counts.
Authorities say the two had a piece of furniture packaged and stuffed with marijuana delivered to their home last week.
Authorities say they were alerted to the situation after the shipping company noticed the package was heavier than it should be.
"The marijuana was coming to the individual in the Alabama area," said Maj. Steve Spears of the East Mississippi Drug Task Force. "Meridian was the pickup point. The individual was to come pick it up and distribute it to places in Alabama. "
Both men have bonded out of jail. Hancock's bond was $55,000. Thompson's was set at $50,000.
