Keeping your home warm during long stretches of cold temperatures can be expensive.
If you are unable to afford your utility bills, the city of Meridian shared information about some organizations offering help to some low-income residents.
"Wesley House offers a one-time assistance for our elderly and disabled, funded through Mississippi Power," said Ginger Hand of the Meridian Fire Department. "Multi-County also has a program that will offer utility bill assistance payments, where you can contact them and they can pay a power bill that is past due to help keep your power and utilities on."
To apply for help, you may go to Wesley House with a proof of income, Social Security number, and proof of household expenses. For more information about MCCSA's services, call 601-483-4838.
