Firefighter Dies in Line of Duty

Family and friends are morning the death of a long-time volunteer firefighter in Neshoba County.

Officials say 55-year-old Jerry Thompson suffered a fatal heart attack Thursday afternoon.

It happened after he and other Linwood volunteers had extinguished a mobile home fire on County Road 262 north of Union.

    Praying for Jerry's family. Thanks to Jerry and all the volunteer firemen that risk their lives to help when others are in need. Rain or shine thay are always there. God please watch over them.

    my prayers go out for this family i know its hard on them, but look at the bright side of this he died doing what he like to do helping other
