Mississippi's budget is a mahor issue for government officials as well as tax payers.
Mississippi Senator Terry C. Burton of District 31 discussed some of the options the state has when dealing with the budget. He says furloughs are likley and people should expect some layoffs.
"Well I think that at the end of the day, we will probably, honestly see some furloughs or layoffs or possibly loosing some of our personnel. I don't think the provision of services provied by state agencies will be affected if we have to reduce some of those jobs."
Senator Burton went on to say that he doesn't think a lot of institutions will have to close. He just thinks they will offer services at a lower cost.
