Children Learn from Peter and the Wolf

Puppet Arts Theatre presented "Peter and the Wolf" for children attending Northeast Lauderdale Elementary and the church's daycare center.

Northeast teacher Sharon Pratt said the experience was fun, but valuable in other ways, too.

"They're going to learn about the fun of music, the story that's told through music, hearing the music, seeing the instruments," said Pratt, also a member of CUMC. "Just the joy of the morning. It's so important that boys and girls understand the stories and how they relate to our lives. It's the story of a little boy who misbehaves but it turned out O.K."

The performance was possible through a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission.
