Edgar Ray Killen is suing the FBI and Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood.
Killen was convicted of three counts of manslaughter in 2005, in the 1964 deaths of civil rights workers Michael Schwerner, James Chaney and Andrew Goodman in Neshoba County. He's currently serving a 60 year sentence.
Killen claims in the lawsuit that the FBI and Hood conspired to suppress his rights to defend his society and culture.
The federal lawsuit seeks millions of dollars in damages, and a declaration that his rights were violated.
