First Lady to Visit Mississippi

A news release from the White House says First Lady Michelle Obama will visit Mississippi Mar. 3 and be joined by Gov. Haley Barbour and his wife, Marsha, at a school to discuss ways to promote health eating, nutrition education and physical activity in schools.

Obama will hear from school officials and experts about local efforts to combat childhood obesity.

The first lady's campaign on obesity has four parts: helping parents make better food choices, serving healthier food in school vending machines and lunch lines, making healthy food more available and affordable, and encouraging children to exercise more.

So impressed a professional Mom is taking time to address family issues as she serves as first lady. I always feel she is family first in word and deed. I hope things are well with her own family as she gives Mississippi families her time this week.

I feel it is an honor and privelige to be graced with the presence of our first lady. She and her husband does great things and 'will keep hope alive' for our nation. I love how the Obama's handle all of our problems and at the end of the day still have time for their families.

These kids are not getting over fed at school. Have you seen what and how little they feed them? These kids eat everything in sight when they get home because they are hungry. They are hungry because the schools did not feed them enough at lunch. Some of the food is not edible or the kids don't like it.

We welcome Mrs. Obama. She has a heart for children. This is a very good cause for her to embrace as first lady.
