A downtown Meridian building that once had renovation written all over it, was torn down Saturday.
The Old Country Corner building sits on the corner of 22nd Avenue and Front Street, just as you come over the 22nd Avenue Bridge. It has been closed for some time, but recently, it's owners had decided to renovate it. Now,they say they're tearing it down instead.
Jimmy Rowcliff, the owner, had hopes of turning the building into a restaurant. He says the economic downturn has turned the building into a money trap instead.
