Hitt Elected Board VP

The Lauderdale County board of supervisors voted Monday to get an unresolved issue settled, the election of a board vice-president.

Supervisors had been without a VP since the beginning of the year, when they failed to elect one.

Monday, after being nominated by Hank Florey, Craig Hitt was elected vice-president.

Florey, Hitt and Joe Norwood voted for the nomination. Ray Boswell voted against it. Wayman Newell abstained.

Do you pray for our leaders? Instead of judging and complaining, why not pray. We get the leadership we deserve. They are a reflection of who we are. You voted for them, now you want to throw them out because they don't do everything you want them to do.

Why all the criticism?? Come election time, they will all come around and promise us everything we want and we will turn around and re-elect them. We have had some good ones in the past and we chose to run them off by electing this bunch. Live with it now!!! Do you talking and action come next election time.

I totally agree with Denise, Lets clean house come election time. The whole board is a joke to lauderdale county. We all should be ashamed of the boards actions and the boards action to prevent the people to have a vote on the garbage issue that will affect every person in the county. Remember what supervisor pushed this issue from day one irrespective of what the people voted in the past. some will say the polls said the people wanted a change. Most people do not participate in polls. The fact is the people voted against the change twice in the past. This issue is one of many that the board did not work for the people. Hitt and Norwood are always together on any issue. I will vote against my current supervisor and hope many others will do the same.
