Funeral services were held Monday for Randy Rose, the longtime communications center manager for Lauderdale County's E911 system.
His voice was a familiar one to local emergency personnel and also locals who had scanners in their homes.
Members of the emergency services community say he will be missed.
"He was invaluable as an employee. He was the pool of information," said E911 director Jared Stanley. "You could go to him and he would be able to either give you the answer to your question or locate that answer for you, no matter what it was. He had been in the service for so long that there was no possible way to look to anyone else except for him for some information."
Following his funeral at Central United Methodist Church, Lauderdale County E911 held a final call for Rose, saying that he was 10-7, or out of service, for the final time.
