Lee to be Remembered at Marine Base

A Georgia military base is naming its kennel in honor of a local Marine canine handler who died in Iraq.

The Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany plans to hold a ceremony later this month to dedicate its kennel to Corporal Dustin Lee.

The 20-year-old Quitman High School graduate died in a rocket attack in Iraq in 2007.

His bomb-sniffing dog, Lex, was adopted by his parents. Lex and the Lees are both expected to be at the ceremony.

This is wonderful. Mr. Lee selflessly gave his life for our freedom and he deserves this honor. Gad bless America!

What a wonderful honor for this young man, his family, and his loyal dog. I am so proud for them.
