Although the pace of the foreclosure crisis is slowing down in the United States, 41 percent more Mississippi households received some sort of a foreclosure-related notice last month, compared to February 2009.

RealtyTrac, which tracks foreclosures nationwide, said 416 Mississippi homeowners received such a notice last month.

Nationwide, RealtyTrac said last month's figure was up only 6 percent, the smallest annual increase in four years.

One in every 3,046 Mississippi homeowners was hit by a notice last month.

Those notices range from an initial warning of default to the outright sale of a confiscated property.

Mississippi ranked 40th in foreclosure notices.
